Why Your Compare-At Price Shows Differently at Checkout in Shopify

If you’ve noticed that the “compare-at” price (the crossed-out original price) looks different on your product page compared to checkout, don’t worry, this is normal Shopify behavior. Shopify always calculates discounts based on the regular product price, not the compare-at price.

Here’s what’s going on:

• When a discount code is applied, it calculates from your regular price

• The checkout page then recalculates which prices to show

This happens whether you set up discounts manually in Shopify or use third-party apps, it’s just how Shopify’s checkout works.

What can you do about it?

There’s no perfect fix, but one option is to remove compare-at prices and use direct discounts instead. If you remove the compare-at prices and create discounts directly through the Kaching Bundles app, the discounted price will display consistently everywhere, including checkout.

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Remove all compare-at prices from your products in Shopify.

Step 2: Create direct discounts using the Kaching Bundles app instead.

Step 3: Verify that the discounted prices display correctly throughout the checkout.
