Step 1: Export your subscriptions

Begin by exporting your current subscription data from your existing subscriptions app. Ensure the export is in CSV format, as this is the required format for importing into Kaching Subscriptions. The CSV file should include essential information such as customer details, payment method id, subscription plans, billing cycles, and product variants.

Step 2: Contact Kaching support

Once you have your CSV file ready, reach out to Kaching’s support team via their live chat. Provide them with the CSV file and request assistance in importing your subscriptions into the Kaching Subscriptions app. The support team will guide you through the import process and ensure that your subscriptions are correctly set up in the system.

Step 3: Review Imported Subscriptions

After Kaching imports your subscriptions, they will be in a “Paused” state. This pause ensures that customers are not charged twice - once by the old app and once by Kaching.

It’s crucial to double-check the imported subscriptions to ensure all data is accurate and complete.

Step 4: Activate Subscriptions

Once you’ve confirmed that all imported subscriptions are correct, you can activate them. Activating subscriptions will trigger a system notification, sending an email to customers. This email includes a link to the customer portal, where customers can manage their subscriptions. If you prefer that customers do not receive this email, you can manage notification settings in the Email Settings page of the app.

Step 5: Cancel Subscriptions in the Old App

To prevent customers from being charged by both the old app and Kaching, you must cancel all subscriptions in your previous subscription platform. It’s advisable to contact the support team of your old app to ensure that cancellation emails are not sent to customers, which could cause confusion.

Important Considerations

  • Do not uninstall the old app prematurely: Avoid uninstalling your previous subscription app before the migration is complete. Uninstalling the app can make it challenging to verify that the imported subscriptions match the exported data, especially if the old app intentionally omits required fields;

  • Email Notifications: Switching the subscription state from “Paused” to “Active” triggers an email notification to customers. If you wish to suppress this one-time email, adjust the notification settings in the Email Settings page.
