Why Am I Still Being Charged After Canceling?

Why Was I Charged After Canceling?

If you've recently canceled your subscription to one of our apps and noticed a charge from Shopify, don't worry, here's how Shopify app billing works and what to expect.

What Happens When You Cancel

When you cancel your plan, the following happens immediately:

• All your bundle deals are unpublished from your storefront — they will no longer be visible to your customers.
• Your data and settings are preserved — nothing is deleted.
• You can still access the app admin to view your configuration.

⚠️ Important: Please note that Shopify may still charge you for the remainder of your current billing cycle. This is not a new charge — it's the billing cycle that was already in progress.

Why Does Shopify Still Charge Me?

All app charges are processed through Shopify's billing system, not by us directly. Shopify bills on a 30-day recurring cycle, and when you cancel mid-cycle, Shopify does not automatically issue a prorated refund for the remaining days.

For example: if your billing cycle started on March 1 and you cancel on March 15, Shopify may still charge you for the full March 1–30 period, even though your bundles were unpublished on March 15.

Canceled Shortly After a New Billing Cycle?

If you downgraded or uninstalled within the first few days of a new billing cycle, you may be eligible for a refund. Contact us at [email protected] and we'll review your case. We're happy to issue a credit or refund for the unused portion when possible.
