Streaks let you build a ladder of rewards in Kaching Subscriptions. Each subscription moves up the ladder as it completes orders, unlocking the rewards you choose at each milestone.
For example, you could offer 10% off after 2 orders, a free gift after 4 orders, and 15% off after 6 orders.
How streaks work
Each step unlocks after a subscription completes the number of successful orders you set. Its reward applies to the next subscription order.
For example, a 5% off set to unlock after 3 orders is added to order 4. It is not added to order 3.
For new subscriptions, the initial checkout order counts as order 1. For existing subscriptions, you choose whether their past orders count during setup.
Progress belongs to each subscription separately. A customer with two subscriptions can have different progress on each one.
Create a streak
1. Open the streak editor
In Kaching Subscriptions, go to Streaks → Create streak.
Under Configuration, enter an Internal name so you can recognize the streak later. Customers do not see this name.
2. Choose who can join
In Who's in it, choose:
Everyone: Make the streak available across your shop's subscription plans.
Specific selling plans: Choose the selling plan groups that qualify.
You can run a general streak alongside streaks for specific selling plans. When a subscription qualifies for both, the plan-specific streak takes priority. A subscription already on a streak stays on its existing ladder.
3. Decide how to handle existing subscriptions
In Existing subscribers, choose one of three options:
Don't include them: Only subscriptions created after you publish can join.
Start them at zero: Existing subscriptions can participate, but only orders placed after activation count toward rewards.
Count their past orders: Eligible existing subscriptions join with their past subscription orders counted. Rewards they have already unlocked apply to their next order.
If past orders take a subscription past several milestones, it receives the latest reached discount reward and the latest reached gift reward, where applicable. Earlier rewards of the same type are not issued as a backlog.
Review the existing-subscription preview before publishing, especially when counting past orders: some subscriptions may qualify for rewards immediately.
4. Build your reward ladder
In The ladder, set After # of orders for each step and choose a reward:
Discount: A percentage discount.
Free products: One or more gift products, with the quantities you choose.
Discount + free products: A discount and gifts at the same milestone.
Use Add step to create more milestones, and review the Preview as you build.
For discounts, choose the percentage and optionally enter a discount name. Leave Discount applies to future orders unchecked to apply it to the next order only. Check it to continue the discount on future orders until a later discount step replaces it.
Streak discounts replace one another; they do not add together. For example, a later 15% streak discount replaces an earlier 10% streak discount. A gift-only step does not remove an ongoing streak discount.
For gifts, choose the products and quantities. Each gift reward is issued once, on the next subscription order after it unlocks. Selecting a specific variant fixes the gift to that variant. Leaving the variant open lets the customer choose it in the customer portal; if they do not choose, the product's first variant is used.
5. Customize the customer messaging
Open Customer experience to edit the messages customers see as they progress.
You can customize the Joined state and each reward step using the Title, Description, Progress message, and Message fields. Use the variable button to insert available dynamic values and the Translate links to manage translations.
Customers can view their streak progress and rewards in the customer portal.
6. Save or publish
Choose Save as draft to finish later, or Publish to activate the streak.
Publishing locks the reward steps, audience, and order-counting option. Review these carefully before publishing. You can still edit the internal name and customer messaging afterward.
Example: a three-step streak
For a new subscription, you could configure:
After 2 orders: 10% off, with future orders enabled. The discount starts on order 3.
After 4 orders: A free gift. The gift is included with order 5, alongside the ongoing 10% discount.
After 6 orders: 15% off, with future orders enabled. Order 7 onward receives 15% instead of 10%.
Frequently asked questions
Does skipping or pausing reset progress?
No. Skipping an order or pausing a subscription keeps its progress. Rewards unlock as more successful orders are completed, so the next reward may arrive later.
Do failed payments count toward rewards?
No. Progress is based on successful subscription orders.
What happens if a customer cancels and subscribes again?
The new subscription starts its own streak progress. Progress from the cancelled subscription does not transfer.
Can I run multiple streaks?
Yes, for different selling plans. The same selling plan cannot be assigned to two live plan-specific streaks, and your shop can have only one live **Everyone** streak. Unpublish a conflicting streak before publishing its replacement.
Can I delete a streak with participating subscriptions?
No. Deletion is blocked while participating subscriptions remain, including paused subscriptions and those with billing issues. Unpublish it to stop new participants while preserving existing participants' rewards.
